Founded by Harold S. Bender and the Mennonite Historical Society in 1927, the Mennonite Quarterly Review is now a cooperative publication of Goshen College, the Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary and the Mennonite Historical Society.

After serving as editor of MQR since 1994, John D. Roth completed his last issue in July of 2022. Dr. Roth has accepted a position with MennoMedia as project director of the “Anabaptism at 500” celebration. The MQR Publication Committee is extremely grateful for his years of service and the quality of his work. C. Arnold Snyder, History Professor Emeritus at Conrad Grebel University College, has serve as interim editor beginning with the October 2022 issue, and Jo-Ann A. Brant, Professor Emeritus at Goshen College, serves as interim managing editor.
