Tastes and talents from around world featured in annual Goshen College International Coffeehouse Feb. 7

GOSHEN, Ind. -- There are few places where you can experience the tastes and cultures of countries all over the world at the same time. But the International Student Club at Goshen College is offering such an evening on Saturday, Feb. 7.

During its annual International Coffeehouse, that begins with a 5 p.m. international feast in College Mennonite Church Fellowship Hall and is followed by a 7 p.m. international student variety show in Umble Center, the club will be raising money to fund their group and to aid one or more needy GC international students.

The international feast will include a buffet of aloo dum from India (spicy potatoes), bowgookee from Korea (seasoned beef), ndole from Cameroon (collared greens), tookba from Tibet (noodles) and sushi from Japan (raw fish), among other dishes.

Among the performances in the show will be dances from Indonesia, Korea and Mexico; music from Ethiopia, Nepal and the Dominican Republic; and an Indonesian skit.

Tickets cost $12 for the dinner and the show, and $6 for the show only ($7 at the door). Tickets are available in the Goshen College Welcome Center by calling (574) 535-7566.
