Canadian poet Di Brandt to present poetry reading March 9

 

GOSHEN, Ind. -- Award-winning Canadian poet Di Brandt will read from her new collection of poetry at Goshen College March 9 at 7:30 p.m. in the Music Center's Rieth Recital Hall.

 

Brandt's new collection, "Now We Care," was just released in Canada by Coach House Books. Brandt, who led a poetry workshop at Goshen College in 2003, is the author of numerous works of poetry, essays and criticism. She is professor of creative writing at the University of Windsor in Windsor, Ontario. Brandt grew up in a Mennonite village in southern Manitoba and was the poetry editor for Prairie Firemagazine for five years.

 

The reading will be followed by a reception and book signing. This event, sponsored by the English Department, is free and open to the public.
