Mennonite Historical Society hosts spring banquet May 27

GOSHEN, Ind. – The Mennonite Historical Society will host its annual spring banquet at Berkey Avenue Mennonite Fellowship in Goshen on Thursday, May 27.

The evening will feature a Laotian meal (catered by Goshen College Men's Soccer Coach Tavi Mounsithiraj) at 6 p.m., followed by a presentation at 7 p.m. by John Rempel on "Many a Divine Mystery: Readings and Commentary from Jörg Maler's Kunstbuch." The Kunstbuch is a massive collection of 16th-century Anabaptist sources that Rempel has recently translated into English. Rempel, professor of historical theology and Anabaptism at Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary, will share on the significance of these writings both for historians and for the contemporary church.

Suggested donation for this fundraiser is $25 per plate. For meal reservations, contact John D. Roth by mail (Goshen College, Goshen, IN 46526), phone (574-533-7433) or by e-mail (johndr@goshen.edu) before May 21.
