Arpay to play Andean music at Goshen College Oct. 24



GOSHEN, Ind. -- Sounds straight from the Andean mountains can be heard by the group Arpay at Goshen College on Oct. 24 at 7:30 p.m. in the Sauder Concert Hall.

In the Quechua language Arpay means effort, success and reaching the summit. The group of Andean and Latin American musicians includes senior Malcolm Sedaca from Argentina and 1998 graduate Alex Naula from Ecuador, as well as two other Peruvian musicians. The group plays traditional Andean wind and string instruments , as well as acoustic guitar and percussion.

Admission to the concert is $3 for adults, $1 for students, with tickets available at the door. CDs will be available for sale after the concert.

The concert is sponsored by Goshen College's Spanish department, Student Life and Academic Affairs offices and Plowshares Peace Studies Program.
