'What Sweeter Music' provides festive sounds of the season at GC Dec. 6-7

GOSHEN, Ind. -- Goshen College music students and faculty will join to present "What Sweeter Music," a festive program of seasonal music for the entire community at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 6 and 7 in the Sauder Concert Hall in Goshen College's Music Center. Lavender Jazz will play pre-concert holiday music in Rieth Recital Hall starting at 7 p.m.

The Goshen College Chamber Choir, Chorale, Orchestra and Lavender Jazz, as well as student and faculty soloists and ensembles, will perform Christmas music both traditional and contemporary.

The program will include "Fantasia on Greensleaves" by Vaughan Williams, "Christmas Flourish" by Randol Alan Bass and an audience sing-along of familiar carols.

Debra Brubaker, associate professor of music, said, "We welcome the Michiana regional community to this festive offering from the Goshen College Music Department. It will be an evening of musical variety, celebrating the holiday season."

Tickets for the concert cost $8 general admission, $5 for students and seniors. They can be purchased at the door or by contacting the college's Welcome Center at (574) 535-7566 or joannp@goshen.edu.

Sauder Concert Hall is accessible to people using wheelchairs and others with physical limitations.
