Math Alumnus is Commencement Speaker
Matthew Schrock, 2003 graduate in mathematics education, was chosen by the Concord High School Class of 2013 to be its Faculty Commencement speaker. A powerful call for engagement with others and the world, Matt’s speech is probably the only one you will ever hear that repeats a certain phrase in five different languages. Matt describes his love for mathematics in this way: “If math were a women, I would fall head over heals in love with her because she is waaay out of my league.” Exponential growth is illustrated with the observation that there are no more than six degrees of separation between any two people.
The Elkhart Truth posted a short article about the commencement. Jeanne Bowen recorded a video of the speech.
