Putnam Competition
Five Goshen College students participated in the Putnam Mathematical Competition on December 6, 2014. The 4,320 participants worked for six hours on twelve difficult problems. Since each solution can earn up to 10 points, the maximum score is 120. The overall winner earned 96 points and the median score was 4 points (and you thought your math tests have been difficult)! Goshen’s top students were Peter Schrock (14 points placing him in the 74th percentile) and Kenan Bitikofer (13 points placing him in the 72th percentile). Congratulations!
