An Evening of Broomball
Even with this mild winter, we have had a few opportunities to play our favorite winter game at Merry Lea. Broomball is a game that is much like hockey but it is played with regular shoes instead of skates, and a broom and a ball, instead of a stick and puck. The ice was right a few weeks ago and we shoveled a rink and invited the EcoPAX club from Goshen College to come and join us for a game of broomball. They quickly arranged to come down after classes. We only had a short period of time until it was too dark to play,
but a bright moon helped to give us a few extra minutes and made the evening feel rather magical. After it was too dark to see the ball, we headed inside for a time of visiting and pizza eating. It was a fun evening and a great way to celebrate winter.
