Samita Thapa ’12
Samita recently finished a fellowship with Atlas Corps as well as the Emerging Global Leadership Initiative of the White House, and through these programs she was placed at a social enterprise called TechChange located in Washington D.C. Before she took on this fellowship she was an intern at the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants which is also located in D.C.
While working for TechChange she had the exiting opportunity to be on a panel at the World Bank and discuss youth empowerment. She was also on another panel in which she interacted with young leaders from Saudi Arabia about using social media for volunteerism and advocacy. (those interested in this fellowship can find more information at this link : Atlas Corps)
She plans on moving back to Nepal at the end of the year and is looking forward to helping the reconstruction of her country after the devastating Gorkha earthquake this past April.
