Kinesiology Community Connections and Internships

In the Kinesiology department, each senior completes an internship working in the community to build leadership skills and increase career specific competencies prior to graduation. The student chooses an organization for their internship and their adviser approves the site and assists in setting up the experience. Students work every week, complete reflective journals and focus on learning outcomes established by the Kinesiology Department. The on site supervisor gives feedback and assesses the student learning outcomes during and at the end of the experience.

Community internship sites for exercise science majors included:  OSMC Goshen, Goshen Hospital, The Rinker Family Wellness Center at Greencroft, local high school athletic training departments and Little Eden camp .

Physical education internships were completed at the Boys and Girls Club Goshen, Goshen Community Schools, high schools in other locations  and with local club sports associations.
