Clayton Pelfrey, a senior informatics major from Middlebury, IN, developed an iPad App about Goshen College. The App has been used by students on Campus the last two years. It was recently added to the App store, which allows none students to use the App as well.

Starting in the Fall of 2014 Goshen College students will be able to major in Information Technology. This a major crafted to give the students the skills that local employers indicated they wanted new computer graduates to have. The major provides students a solid foundation in computer programming as well as courses in business and communication.
A number of Informatics students participated in the biannual Goshen College electronics/robotics show.Some of the project informatics students worked on included: a radio-controlled quadrotor helicopter with a claw, a self-driving car, and a robotic arm that mimicked hand movements. The Institute for Certification of Computing Professionals recently appointed Kent Palmer to the CS2013 Assessment Examination Council. The council is developing a high-quality exam that computer science programs can use to assess their own effectiveness on the core learning outcomes of the 2013 Computer Science Model Curriculum.
On Friday October 11, See Me CNC will demonstrate the ORION 3D Printer in Science 106 at 4 PM. The Orion Printer has a 6" diameter build surface with heated bed for ABS printing. It can print 3D objects up to 8" high. The printer has a 200mm per second top speeds and a 50 micron resolution.

The Goshen Core is increasingly incorporating the use of iPad technology. The use of this technology provides study convenient access to vast stores of information both in class and out of class.
Balazs Pirot was featured in the Goshen College Record. Balazs is from Hungary and in addition to studying informatics at Goshen College he is on the Tennis Team.
