Alexandria Flores ’23
Goshen
Major: Business
Why did you choose Goshen?
I chose Goshen College because I wanted to stay close to home. Two of my older sisters attended and graduated from GC and enjoyed it, so their experiences definitely made an impact on me.
I believed that choosing to attend GC would be a good fit for me because I liked the idea of going to a smaller school where I could have a good relationship with my professors and could easily reach out for help if I needed it. I also wanted to continue working part-time at my job during the school year, so staying at home allowed that.
Why did you choose your major?
When I first came to GC, I was majoring in nursing. I made the decision to switch to business at the end of my sophomore year because I realized that nursing was no longer for me. I decided to switch to business as it was another major I was considering back in high school. It took me a while to finalize my decision on changing majors, but once I did, I felt like I made the right choice. I’m excited to see where this new path will take me.
What career are you interested in pursuing?
Currently I am very unsure of what I want to do after graduation. As of now, I have interests of pursuing a career in sales or marketing, real estate, or to open up my own small business.
What is a valuable experience that you have had at Goshen?
While being at Goshen, I’ve been fortunate enough to have very helpful and kindhearted professors. With their help and support in the classroom, they have all allowed me to have a good and valuable experience here at GC.
