Professor Emeritus of Nursing
What drew you to want to teach at Goshen College?
My desire to teach at Goshen College grew out of a sense of calling and service to the church. When I entered graduate school, I chose to specialize in nursing education. Fairly quickly into my studies, I started contemplating returning to GC to teach.
What do you love most about teaching GC students?
The greatest thing about GC students is watching their creativity flourish, witnessing their growth from beginning of the program through to graduation, and partnering in the transformational power of education.
What excites you about nursing?
The knowledge that is unique to nursing is growing rapidly. There is a great need for nursing leadership with a vision for the future. There are few other professions that have such great adaptability to the needs of society. When a new health problem emerges in society…enter nursing.
What do you enjoy doing outside of your academic work?
I am most passionate about my children and grandchildren. The opportunity to witness growth and development across the lifespan is awe-inspiring. I also enjoy reading, playing games and travel. Where would I like to travel? Most anywhere!
