Why did you choose Goshen College and what keeps you here?
I have continued to attend Goshen because I enjoy the environmental science program and feel that I have increased both my knowledge and skill set in this area. All of the professors are very nice and passionate about the subjects they teach, which encourages me to become passionate too. I also like the small campus and small class sizes, it’s easy to get to know people and get involved in campus activities.
What do you like most about Goshen and why?
My favorite thing about Goshen is that there are a large amount of research and travel opportunities available. Students can do work with professors, internships over the summer, and research in facilities that aren’t on the main campus, like at Merry Lea and J.N. Roth Marine Biology Station. There also also lots of opportunities to travel abroad for a semester or May term, like Study-Service Term which combines education and student services.
What do you hope to do with your degree?
Taking family vacations to National Parks inspired me to become a National Park Ranger, but this dream may change as I continue to look into other environmental science careers. No matter what I do, I hope I am able to use my degree to protect, restore, and raise awareness for the ecosystems humans are destroying.
