Here are answers to some of the most immediate questions you may be wondering about:

General Prospective Student FAQs

Will GC Admissions Counselors be traveling to high schools, colleges or fairs this fall? Yes! If plans change due to changes in the pandemic, we will update this webpage.

Can I schedule a campus visit to GC? Yes! We are open for individual campus visits by appointment and also offer several group visit events throughout the year. Learn more at goshen.edu/visit. In addition to on-campus visits, we also encourage you to check out our virtual engagement opportunities, which include a self-guided virtual tour, live custom virtual visits, and recorded videos from faculty, staff and students at GC. Learn more at goshen.edu/getconnected.

Will admissions decisions be delayed? No. Admissions and financial aid decisions are continuing to be made within the same timeframe as always.

Is campus open? Yes! We have resumed normal on-campus operations as of August 2020, including face-to-face classes and on-campus housing.

My high school/college only offered Pass/Fail grades during the 2020 spring semester. How will this impact my admissions decision? Our Admissions Team has always, and will continue to review your application materials holistically. Admissions decisions are partially based on your cumulative GPA over the course of your entire high school career. Because Pass/Fail grades do not impact the weight of your cumulative GPA, we do not expect that there will be any negative impacts for you when reviewing your application materials. If you have any questions about your specific situation, don’t hesitate to contact us at admissions@goshen.edu.

High School Student FAQs

My Advanced Placement (AP) exams were moved online due to the pandemic. Will you still accept these scores? Yes, we will still accept a passing score (3 or better) on most Advanced Placement exams for college credit.

My International Baccalaureate (IB) results were calculated differently due the pandemic. Will you still accept these scores? Yes, we will still accept IB exam scores and diplomas for college credit using our current guidelines.

If I was unable to take the SAT/ACT due to pandemic-related cancellations, can I still complete the application for admission? Yes! Goshen College has adopted a test-optional admissions policy. This means that while we still welcome the submission of test scores for those who have them and would like them to be considered in their admissions decision, this is not required to be eligible for admission. When completing your admissions application you will be able to indicate whether or not you would like SAT/ACT test results considered in your admissions decision. Start your application now >>
