Virtual New Student Orientation (vNSO) is available for students who cannot participate in NSO in person on June 14, June 15, or July 12.
New Student Orientation (NSO) is a required part of the overall orientation experience at Goshen College. We understand that distance to campus, family plans, or work obligations may keep you from attending an in-person NSO. The virtual option provides a way to receive the necessary information and complete an advising and registration appointment via Zoom.
Register and complete the steps for vNSO:
- Register for virtual New Student Orientation (vNSO). The registration form includes questions related to advising and registration.
- Log in to the Online Orientation course in Moodle. Within 24 hours of registering, a new course section labeled “Module 3: Virtual New Student Orientation (vNSO)” will be available.
- Schedule your Zoom advising and registration appointment. Instructions on how to do this are in Module 3 in the Online Orientation course.
Important information about the vNSO option:
- vNSO is asynchronous; there are no live sessions. The dates on the registration form (May 30-July 31) reflect how long the virtual option will be available.
- vNSO is housed in the Online Orientation course in Moodle. Access is gained by completing the registration form.
- Students participating in vNSO will take the ALEKS math placement test online over the summer and complete their writing assessment in person during Welcome Week in August.
