Megan Strock writes about our rafting trip on the Jondachi and Hollin rivers — these were Class III and Class IV rapids and our guides at River People Rafting gave us the time of our lives while teaching us all about white water:
I can officially cross rafting in the Amazon off my bucket list! What a day to remember. Our group was blessed with the opportunity to go white water rafting in the Jondachi River today. I have always wanted to go and, let me tell you, it was everything I had hoped it to be. I had a great group in my raft, with a fun, hip guide named Julio. I won’t forget the rush of going downstream, water splashing in my face and literally getting stuck on top of a rock, with the river forcing currents at us every way possible. I was one of the lucky three to jump off the raft and try to hold onto the rope from another raft to get our group off the raft. I went completely under, the current taking me the way it wanted and spitting me out to scramble to find help. It was such a rush and it was an experience I will never forget. I am definitely going again in my lifetime! As my raft would shout, VIDA LOCA!!
