Saturday was a long day for the members of Goshen Womens World Choir. It all began with an early wake-up and congregation at the Goshen Union Building. Everyone popped their possessions under the bus and packed into a very-nearly-full bus, and then we headed over to Greencroft where we gave our very first performance of tour! As we lined up around the circumference of the room and sang our opening songs, we could see some people closing their eyes, welling up, and swaying with the sound. It was a wonderful start to the tour.
After that, we headed back for some lunch at the Rot before embarking (for real this time!) on the 6 hour drive to our friendly neighbors of the north. The ride was definitely long, but spirits were lifted as soon as we made it across the border and the many Canadians of the group started belting the Canadian National Anthem. Everyone began to feel better after watching My Big fat Greek Wedding and stopping for some TimBits at Tim Horton’s. We arrived at the church around 8 pm, and were assigned to our host families for the night. The lovely people of the Kitchner/Waterloo area took us in with open arms and welcomed us in for the night!
