Today was our first day of collecting data for our individual research projects. Mira is working on bird responses to smoke with Alex while Willow, Amelia, Jesper, and I are working on counting ants as an evacuation response to bucket burning. From this data we hope to gain insight on evacuation rates of RRB and BBR ants in response to smoke in the air. Then in the evening we took our sundowner to Baboon Cliffs. Unfortunately, the drought in the region inhibited us from seeing any water but we were still able to explore on foot to see some amazing views from the edge of the cliffs. On our way back we found a new friend to add to our species list though the first of its kind with so many legs!
