Today the day started with students giving oral presentations outlining the findings for their research. Their teams also turned in their final papers. We spent around 2 and half hours discussing our successes, the merits of the various project’s conclusions, challenges faced in research in the marine environment, and how our views have changed as a result. It was a fitting morning to an amazing trip.
Jenna Lee, this year’s teaching assistant, produced this YouTube video with photos and video highlights from our time. You will definitely want to see it.
In the afternoon we cleaned the research station, removed and cleaned the boat, and completed minor repairs on the facility. By 3:30 we were on our way to Marathon for a final afternoon of volleyball on the beach. It has been a wonderful trip and we are all grateful for the opportunity to learn more about marine systems – we’ve learned and felt things we will not soon forget.
