As we all adjusted to the new time one over the weekend we had our first class in preparation for our trip to Westminster Abbey and more free time to explore the city.
Saturday, everyone explored different areas of the city after class and attended a variety of shows in the evening. Some highlights from the day for various small groups included high end fashion shopping, exploring the theatreland district downtown, visiting tea shops, and sight seeing locations like the tower bridge. Some shows people enjoyed Saturday included Waitress, The Man of La Mancha, The Woman in Black, and The Twilight Zone.
On Sunday, the group gathered as a whole again to attend mass at Westminster. The music of the service and architecture of the building were beautiful, even if the service was not what most of us were used to. It was awesome to get to experience a service in the building and share in this experience with others. After the service, Doug led a group on a walking tour to Buckingham Palace (Where the new baby royal was born this morning) and other students broke off to explore the city more. Many of us visited the Albert and Victoria museum to see art recommended by Randy. As Sunday is the dark day for most shows on west end, most of us took the opportunity to rest up and begin homework in preparation for the coming week.
