Tour has officially started! Well, it began at 8:45 this morning once we left the Music Center parking lot. The bus ride included some movies, frequent jokes, and even learning a couple songs (and making up some funny ones, too). In any case, after about 12 hours of driving with some stops for bathroom breaks and food, we have made it to Washington, D.C.
We got off the bus long enough to be paired off in small groups to stay with host families, meet our host families, and then leave to go to their houses. I was paired with Reuben Sancken and Peter Garry for the next couple nights. We arrived with our host family to exchange some informal greetings, and they even offered us some fresh chocolate cake. We all spent the next couple hours in meaningful conversation ranging from religion, to music, to our school studies. This was quite an enjoyable evening, providing a welcome change from sitting in the bus for such a long time; tour has started off interestingly, and I look forward to what is in store for us here in D.C.
