It’s finally official! We are launching the Intercultural Blog, “Bienvenidos a GC,” from Goshen College. This is good news given that we’ve already spent some time working on this project with the aim of getting closer to the community members, be they students, employees, or people outside the college.
This blog will consist of getting to know those around us, to know more about the people that we pass on the street or on campus. This consists of establishing relationships and intercultural conversations in which the only requirement is to learn from and respect everyone. Which is to say, we want to form a space for dialogue and learning that serves our objective of being more united.
In this blog we will have different sections, including an opinion section (where anyone is invited to give their opinion touching on a variety of topics), a Q&A section with questions that are different from the ones usually asked, articles about real news, and different profiles of people affiliated with the community.
It should also be known that we will not always be in charge of what is said in the opinion pieces, meaning that the points of view don’t have to match our own. In fact, we leave the door totally open for any person to write and we offer our help in this task if it is necessary.
In addition, the blog will be in Spanish and English, the most commonly spoken languages in the Goshen community. This is only the beginning, though, so in the future if this blog grows, we might be able to add more languages. We hope that this will be the start of something lasting and useful for all of you and we encourage you to participate in this project through writing.
