Scripture: Romans 16:25-27 (NRSV)
It’s no question that we as a society are constantly searching for the next best thing. Always on the lookout for what’s trendy, what’s fashionable and what will make us seem as though we’re in a better position than we actually are. The next Forbes “get rich quick” scheme or the newest list of daily habits that guarantee success. We find ourselves in a perpetual cycle, always searching but never finding.
Even as believers, we sometimes forget that we have access to the most powerful, most awesome and most wise being whoever ever lived. The day we accepted Jesus Christ we were granted spiritual access to the culmination of every promise that is mentioned in Scripture and more. In Roman 16 we are encouraged that through the obedience of faith and salvation of Christ, mysteries and secrets are made manifest. Seeking first the kingdom of God and his righteousness is the search that grants wisdom beyond what we could ever imagine. Jesus Christ is the manifestation of the promise and is the answer we all need. As we finish out this current season remember that the road to revelation is found not by searching for what’s trendy but for what was made manifest.

Now to God who is able to strengthen you according to my gospel and the proclamation of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery that was kept secret for long ages 26but is now disclosed, and through the prophetic writings is made known to all the Gentiles, according to the command of the eternal God, to bring about the obedience of faith 27to the only wise God, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever! Amen.
