Though I will stumble
God’s presence will bring me truth
Why then shall I fear?
The gift of stories
What stories do you tell yourself and others about the world we live in? How are you opening yourself to the ways God wants to reframe these stories? Are you choosing the Story of Light and Love?
God gathers us together in safe shelter
God’s light in our lives may not always be obvious to us – and that’s okay.
Temptation in the wilderness
Jesus’ temptation in the wilderness is a strange story to 21st century ears.
Resistance and temptation
What does it mean for us to resist the temptation of these “pomps” of Satan and live into where the Holy Spirit calls us?
A map in the wilderness
Lent invites us to find the boundaries of our maps and enter the wilderness in faith. And so we begin.
Welcome to 2019 Lenten Devotions: “Blessed Hunger, Holy Feast”
Beginning March 6 (Ash Wednesday) and culminating on April 21 (Easter), GC students, faculty and staff will provide weekday reflections based on the upcoming Sunday’s lectionary Scripture passages and reflect on the theme: “Blessed Hunger, Holy Feast.” This year we will also revisit some devotions from previous Lenten seasons, but which are still relevant to this year’s Scriptures and themes.
Who is Speaking to You?
On this Christmas day, I invite you to sink into the mystery of the nativity, the story of the birth of Jesus.
Love Revealed
Let us rejoice now in the knowledge of Jesus’ coming rather than waiting for something we know has happened.
The Magnificat of Hope
This season let us rejoice, like Mary, for the opportunity God gives us to bring about justice, restoration, and reconciliation to the relationships in our lives, to our local communities, and to the poor and dehumanized in our midst.
