Necessary Losses of Lent
God restored Adam and Eve, who lived fruitful lives beyond the garden. God restored Jesus, now Christ, through resurrection. And so we pray with them and with assurance, “Restore us, O God. Restore us!”
We Hunger
Welcome to Goshen College’s online devotionals for the 2017 Lent season! Our theme this year is “Restore Us, O God!.” Every Monday an author will introduce the sub-theme, and on the following weekdays authors will reflect on a specific Scripture passage. The theme for this week, Lent 1, is “We Hunger.”
Welcome to Goshen College Lenten Devotions, beginning March 1 (Ash Wednesday)
It’s again the time of the year that Goshen College offers an online resource to help believers make time and space in their hearts and minds to reflect during the season of Lent.
Glory hallelujah: Great things come to those who wait
Today our patience has been rewarded with the arrival of our savior. Glory hallelujah!
The Birth of Hope
Jesus has brought about much hope into this world. How can you show this hope to those around you today?
The Birth of Jesus

Mary Did You Know?
Perhaps the greatest Christmas miracle is that a young and vulnerable woman could have such faith and courage.
Startled By God’s Creation
May our rulers and leaders have many moments of being startled by God’s creation, and may these moments lead them to value and protect all people, all creatures and all of nature within our glorious universe.
Jesus’ Liberating Legacy
Though Jesus may not have brought down Caesar or Herod, he revealed God’s desire for the oppressed to be free in his incarnation, giving liberative hope to all who bear the yoke of oppression.
