Life on Service
Given that the focal point of the SST blog is to keep the GC community, family, and friends updated on what students are experiencing, the blog naturally slows down during service as students are away at their service locations. One of the most beautiful elements of service often is the slower pace of life which causes students to focus more intensely on relationships. These experiences help students develop a vision of life that is not as fast paced and productivity driven as life in the capital city of their host country and the pace of the lives that await them when they return to the U.S. This is an important learning that they can carry with them as they craft a vision of their future lives and what their points of emphasis will be as they blend elements of work, play, family, and friends.
