Adjunct Professor in Nutrition

Job Summary:

Goshen College seeks an Adjunct Professor in Nutrition. The person in this position is to teach an introductory nutrition course (CHEM 220).  The nutrition course is a requirement in some majors and minors (ie: Nursing, Health, Exercise Science).

Essential Functions:

The primary responsibility of a person in this position is to teach the introductory nutrition course (CHEM 220).  This includes meeting with the class at its regularly scheduled time, preparing exams and quizzes and other class assignments as appropriate, grading these assignments in a timely manner, and providing feedback to students on how they are performing in class.  The person is welcome but not required to participate in departmental and campus decision processes.  This person is expected to maintain office hours that allow students to meet with them in person.

Education and Experience:

A master’s degree in a nutrition-related field is required.

Skills & Competencies:

Required:

The person must have a depth of knowledge in nutrition sufficient to teach the content.  They must display the ability to teach and engage students.

Preferred:

Experience in a clinical setting with nutrition.

Special Requirements:

Currently the course is taught in the evening and is a 3 hour commitment.  In addition, the person is expected to maintain office hours.
