CORE 115 Wellness for Life
Wellness for Life is required for all first year students. Students examine the importance of exercise and nutrition in college life. Students assess their own fitness level and analyze dietary intake, then identify strengths and areas for concern. Scientific principles are applied as the student sets goals and develops a personal fitness program.

In this course, students will learn about and practice skills for sport officiating, refereeing and umpiring. Each student will complete focused assignments on their particular sport of interest. In depth knowledge of rules for the sport of choice will be required. Additionally, students will practice professional skills (decision making, hand signals, communication, handling disputes, etc.) by officiating actual games. This practical component is required part of the course.

Personal Training
As an ACSM certified personal trainer and exercise physiologist, I enjoy personal training with limited hours per week. I am an expert in developing exercise program with all populations, however the past several years have been mostly focused on training people between the ages of 60-95, and those with chronic illness and disabilities. It has been amazing and inspiring! Continuing my certification and practice enriches my life and allows me to remain up to date in this profession. In addition, I connect exercise science students at Goshen College with my practice and clients in the Greencroft Rinker Family Wellness Center.
I incorporate experiential learning in the community in many of my courses. We work with Goshen Community Public Schools, ADEC, Goshen Health community events, Greencroft, OSMC, and other organizations.
In my free time, I enjoy biking, walking/hiking, lifting weights, watching sport events, listening to music, woodworking and hanging out with family, friends and pets.
