The Troyer Music Scholarship Fund

Music was very important in our home! Our father led the singing at church for many years, and he taught us to sing in parts at an early age. There were five girls in our family, so we often sang in a quartet and even in a quintet on occasion. Barbara had a beautiful soprano voice and she knew so many hymns from memory. When we sang, we could follow her by watching her lips. We sang as a family at home and when traveling in our car. Music has been a lifelong source of enjoyment for our family!

The Troyer farm, near Elida, Ohio, came into the ownership of three of the Troyer sisters. Laura was a Kindergarten teacher for 42 years, and dearly loved the children she taught. Barbara was a long-time office manager for three surgeons. Loretta was a registered nurse and worked 35 years in nursing. Since the entire family had a love for music, Laura, Barbara and Loretta decided to honor their family with a scholarship which comes from funds from the sale of the Troyer farm.
