Tom and Trinda Bishop (Denver, Colorado) and Ron and Linda Gunden (Oak Park, Illinois) have a friendship that dates back to 1965 when Tom, Trinda and Ron met as Goshen College freshmen.

From his childhood on a Doylestown, Pa. farm to lectures in Witmer Woods or the warm waters of the Florida Keys, C. Franklin Bishop carried a near-constant conversation with nature.
It’s because of her background, her philosophy and who she was that makes it natural that she would want to help students from Nebraska and those who are studying to become teachers.
Atlee and Winifred Beechy, both graduates of Goshen College (1935 and 1938 respectively) returned to the campus in 1949 where they worked for the next 34 years, dedicating their lives to counseling and educating students within the broader context of promoting peace and justice in our communities, our nation and our world.
No one in Arden Schmucker’s family had been to college when he and two cousins traveled from Alliance, Ohio to Goshen College in the fall of 1949. Arden said college helped him find reason in life, develop his relationship to Christ and jump-start his professional life.
Then in 1947, the president of Goshen College, E.E. Miller, asked him to come to Goshen to serve as the College’s controller. He served in this role until being named the business manager in 1949 and then later the public relations director.
Kathryn encouraged her education students to incorporate peace teaching at all age levels, and the earlier the better. In 2007, she was honored with the Peace Pitcher Award at the Mennonite USA Convention in San Jose.
Harold Anglemyer was born into teaching, and his wife Elizabeth (Luft) Anglemyer maintained a quiet passion for her role as an educator for 48 years.
Today, Albrecht has decided that he’d like the money he is leaving Goshen College to go towards creating a nursing scholarship. While he has never studied medicine himself, it is a subject that has always intrigued him; more recently in life, he has experienced first-hand the value of nurses.
The importance of a good Christian college education led Howard and Kathryn to start a fund to help other deserving students.
