Olive G. Wyse was born in Wayland, Iowa in 1906 and died in 2005 at the age of 99. A lectureship in her name was established at Goshen College in 1976. After Wyse’s death, the lectureship became a scholarship honoring her wish to support students in early childhood education.
Bud and Phyllis Imhoff Wulliman were raised in homes where music was an important form of expression. Each had parents that not only loved to listen to music but were also able to sing or play instruments.
The Widmer Medical Scholarship for nursing or pre-med students attending Goshen College, Goshen, Ind., was established in 2012 by Helen Yoder Widmer, RN (1917 – ) to honor the lives and work of her husband Dr. J. Glen Widmer, MD (1918 – 2011), his brother Dr. Reuben B. Widmer, MD (1916 – 2014) and their sister Esther M. Widmer, RN (1905 – 1971).
Robert (Bob) Wert was born in Annville, Pennsylvania on August 21, 1939. He attended Eastern Mennonite College, where he met Esther Glick, a fellow student from Belleville, PA and in 1961, they were married.
With this scholarship Galen and Carolyn would like to provide some financial incentive for the children of other Goshen alumni whose church is not providing any financial incentive for them to attend Goshen College. It is hoped that these students will have as great of an experience at Goshen College as their daughter.
Culturally appropriate healthcare was the passion and the practice of Anna Frances “Fran” Zimmerman Wenger, Professor and Director Emerita of the Goshen College Nursing Department. A founding member and past president of the Transcultural Nursing Society (TCNS), Fran brought a world of opportunity to Goshen College.
Well Foundation Goshen has been investing in the health and well-being of Elkhart County since 1969. Scholarships to future nurses have been an important part of this journey.
During his lifetime, he was a regular contributor to Goshen College, and a significant portion of his estate was given to fund this endowment that benefits the Music Center and the Music Department at Goshen College. It was his stated intention to help Goshen College maintain a high quality music program and an excellence in music education.
More than anything else, Christine Weaver practiced Christian discipleship as Christ taught us. Goshen College nurtured her to embark on the journey of discipleship.
