Mrs. Latta was a sensitive, intelligent Christian woman. Having traveled widely, she had broad interests which she shared generously, locally and beyond. Her contribution to the development for international relationships deserves our admiration and gratitude. It is a legacy we cherish.
Bertha Christophel and Clarence Lehman met during the 1906-1907 school year when they were both enrolled in the academy (high school) which was part of Goshen College at the time.
In 1918 the La Junta (Colo.) Mennonite School of Nursing graduated its first class of students. Forty years later the class of 1958 became the last graduating class.
Dr. Dereck Alan Klopfenstein had many and varied interests in life, but his most loved were father, veterinarian, Ironman, son, uncle and friend.
Dwight Y. King was born in Kansas in 1942. He began his stellar scholarly career at Goshen College, with a degree in sociology.
Roy Kauffman was born in Hopedale, Illinois and his family moved to Iowa when he was four years old. Eunice was born and raised in Tiskilwa, Illinois.
Joel Kauffmann graduated from Goshen College with a BA in communication in 1979. He was a member of College Mennonite Church for more than 30 years and a resident of Goshen for 45 years.
Eunice Schrock grew up in a single parent family in Illinois that valued the Mennonite faith and education. After her two older brothers left home her mother, Josephine Yordy Schrock, made Eunice’s education her top priority.
Both Carl and Virginia had deep care and concern for others and selflessly gave back to their community and those around them in many ways, including this wonderful nursing scholarship.
The Marlin and Elizabeth Jeschke Scholarship Fund offers financial aid to Bible, religion, or philosophy majors with the hope that they too might articulate a credible biblical Christian faith that provides them personal satisfaction and equips them to support the church’s witness in the world.
