Elizabeth (Betty) Bixel Miller Jeschke was a dedicated elementary teach for many years. She has supported and nurtured education and intellectual development in her family, friends, and acquaintances for many years.

This Horswell Jain endowment fund is established in honor and in memory of Christine’s parents. Her father, Richard Glenn Horswell, M.D., was a physician based in Bristol, Indiana, for nearly 60 years, establishing his office there in 1940.
Professor of Biology Merle E. Jacobs, Goshen College class of 1948, taught at Goshen during the 1953-54 year and then from 1964 until his retirement in 1985. Jacobs served in Civilian Public Service at Jasper Pulaski Game Preserve near Medaryville, Ind., and at Howard, R.I.
Joseph R. and Elizabeth B. Hoover were born during the early 1930’s. Joseph was the seventh of eight children. His family lived on an 80 acre sharecropper farm in Elkhart County, Indiana.
She was a true embodiment of Goshen Colleges core values of being global citizens, servant leaders, compassionate peacemakers and passionate learners, all the while focused on the life and teachings of Christ.
He cared deeply about his family, loved his Lord and spent his whole life in service to others, never expecting anything in return. His family and loved ones would challenge all recipients of this scholarship to strive to keep Olen’s caring spirit alive.
Doran Hershberger was a humble, quiet, exceptional man with considerable talents and a strong commitment to living the Christian faith. He attended Goshen College during World War II, earning a BA degree in mathematics and then transferred to Case Western Reserve where he earned a BS degree in electrical engineering.
Paul J. and Lavera (Sommers) Helmuth live in Louisville, Ohio, the home community for each. They are members of the Beech Mennonite Church.
Both Carol and Ron graduated from Goshen College, Carol in 1965 with a degree in elementary education and Ron in 1971 with a degree in religion. The fund was created by Dwight and Carol Grieser in honor of Levi and Irene Hartzler as a way of continuing their desire to help others with their education at Goshen College.
H. Harold Hartzler (better known during his teaching years at Goshen College as H3 or Cubey) grew up in Belleville, Pa. He graduated from Juniata College in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, in 1930.
