This scholarship was set up by James and Linda Dintaman Martin. The Martins recognize tensions can exist between values held by members of the sciences and those of Christian service, and would like to support students who are participating in this struggle.
Margaret Ann (Peg) Detwiler graduated from Goshen College in 1943 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music. Four years earlier, in 1939, she graduated from Goshen High School where she played in the orchestra (violin), band (trombone) and sang in the chorus as well as a vocal trio.
Esther decided to make a scholarship available because of her deep appreciation for Goshen College and the faculty members. She wants the scholarship earnings to benefit education majors since that was her field of work.

Thanks to his continued support of Goshen College, Cross can give back to his alma mater, and also provide others the means to a quality education. "To me, the things that are important are the fact that I came from this community and I want to give opportunities to other students. My appreciation of Goshen is something I want to make available to other students as well."
The Cocanowers had planned for Goshen College to receive funds from estate. Their daughter, Lynette Schmidt, wished to set up a scholarship in their names with the funds in honor and memory of her parents.
This Scholarship attempts to honor the constant encouragement and support that Donald and Marie gave to students in the past to achieve their goals and dreams. And they wish you great success as you continue to strive to master and advance chemistry in all its forms.
The nursing graduates of the Goshen College Class of 1960 have all enjoyed roles as professional nurses providing service in many arenas including nursing service, administration, international voluntary service, and education with ten of the thirty class members taking the role of nurse educator.
James (Jim) ’77 and Terri Plank Brenneman ’77 have always been passionate about promoting diversity in higher education and the church.
