Her excellence as a teacher and practitioner, and her forthrightness, honesty, and integrity in her dealings with people will be long remembered. This scholarship, established in her name, is a fitting way for her legacy to continue to benefit future students.
They have given generously all of their adult lives, and this endowment gift is no exception. It honors their values of supporting the church, of serving and of outreach to the powerless, of education that enlightens, of music that touches the soul, and of children who are a gift to the world, and ours to bless.
Bob Bontrager, 57, Corvallis, OR, died of cancer Oct. 17,2014 at Samaritan Evergreen Hospice House, in Albany, OR. He was born in Sturgis, MI and grew up in Elkhart, IN.
Howard and Eva loved to encourage college students who came to their community as well as serving as a teacher and community leader in the public school system. This legacy of service to church and community while encouraging students to become their best, continues with this Scholarship Fund.
This scholarship was donated to help provide funds for a portion of the educational expenses for the student receiving the scholarship.

Tom and Trinda Bishop (Denver, Colorado) and Ron and Linda Gunden (Oak Park, Illinois) have a friendship that dates back to 1965 when Tom, Trinda and Ron met as Goshen College freshmen.
From his childhood on a Doylestown, Pa. farm to lectures in Witmer Woods or the warm waters of the Florida Keys, C. Franklin Bishop carried a near-constant conversation with nature.
It’s because of her background, her philosophy and who she was that makes it natural that she would want to help students from Nebraska and those who are studying to become teachers.
