iPad Returns

Graduating Students

Students who graduate from Goshen College may keep their GC-issued iPad. At some point after graduation and degree conferral, the ITS Department will release your iPad from being managed by Goshen College and notify you with instructions for resetting your iPad. Please contact the ITS Help Desk at (574) 535-7700 or helpdesk@goshen.edu if you have any questions about the releasing of your iPad.

Students Withdrawing from Goshen College

Students who are withdrawing from Goshen College will need to either return the GC-issued iPad, or they may purchase it for what the iPad was valued at when the student was last enrolled at GC.  Withdrawing students who are wanting to purchase the iPad may inquire with the ITS Help Desk about the price of the iPad by calling (574) 535-7700 or helpdesk@goshen.edu.

Withdrawing students who do not wish to purchase the iPad will need to fully erase the iPad and disconnect it from their Apple ID, and then return it (with charging cord and adapter) to the ITS Help Desk, which is located in the basement of the Union building.

Instructions to fully erase the iPad and disconnect it from your Apple ID:

  1. On the iPad, go into Settings.
  2. Tap General.
  3. Scroll down to the bottom and tap “Transfer or Reset iPad.”
  4. Tap the second option down, “Erase All Content and Settings.”
  5. When prompted, enter in your iPad passcode, and then enter in your Apple ID password.
  6. After the iPad reboots, it will be fully erased and disconnected from your Apple ID.
  7. Return your iPad, charging cord, and adapter, to the ITS Help Desk, which is located in the basement of the Union Building. Our hours are Mon-Friday 8 am- 4:30 pm.

Students on a Leave of Absence from Goshen College

Students who have filed a leave of absence with Goshen College may retain the use of their GC-issued iPad during their leave. If the student does not return to Goshen College after their leave of absence period is over, they will need to either purchase the iPad or return it to Goshen College (see above).  Information regarding taking a leave of absence can be found here.
