About 25 women gathered for a break from life’s whirlwind and a Women’s Spirituality Workshop in late January. The two-day public program began with an evening plenary with Old Testament scholar, Jackie Wyse Rhodes, considering the whirlwind encounter described in the book of Job, chapters 38 -39. A night hike followed. Saturday offered two hands-on workshops and time for personal reflection.
Rhodes showed artwork by William Blake’s series on the book of Job, noting the consistent presence of Job’s wife in the pictures. A follow-up question included:
What might an account focused on Job’s wife be like, and how can we claim our own spiritual stories?
