About this event

Come learn about where maple syrup comes from at Tales and Trails in February! We will gather at Merry Lea’s Farmstead to listen to the story: At Grandpa’s Sugar Bush by Margaret Carney and Janet Wilson. Then, we will examine a maple tree that has been tapped and taste the fresh sap. Afterwards, we will go for a short walk to look for other signs that spring is on its way. Please dress yourself and your little ones for the weather. We will be outside the whole time.

What is Tales & Trails?

Children and their caregiver(s) gather for a short story that incites curiosity before exploring different locations around Merry Lea’s property. Expect to hear a tale & hike a trail while discovering the natural wonders around you together. This is a 1.5 hour monthly program designed for children ages 3-5, with younger siblings welcome to join, led by a Merry Lea educator.

Registration is not required for this event series: you’re welcome to drop in without registering. By registering for this program you are signing up for the Tales and Trails monthly email list, which shares details like upcoming program location and more!

*Please note that you do not need to sign up for every Tales & Trails program in the series.
