About this event

What animals can we find at the farm?  What does a juicy tomato taste like fresh from the vine?  This month for Tales and Trails, we will be reading Before We Eat: From Farm to Table written by Pat Brisson & illustrated by Mary Azarian. After that, we will search the gardens for delicious fruits and vegetables and learn about what farm animals call Merry Lea home.

Come prepared to be outside for the whole program time. A hat and water bottle are recommended. Long pants to protect your legs from scratchy grasses and thorns will be helpful as well.

What is Tales & Trails?

Children and their caregiver(s) gather for a short story that incites curiosity before exploring different locations around Merry Lea’s property. Expect to hear a tale & hike a trail while discovering the natural wonders around you together. This is a 1.5 hour monthly program designed for children ages 3-5, with younger siblings welcome to join, led by a Merry Lea educator.

Registration is not required for this event series: you’re welcome to drop in without registering. By registering for this program you are signing up for the Tales and Trails monthly email list, which shares details like upcoming program location and more!

*Please note that you do not need to sign up for every Tales & Trails program in the series.
