Southwest Indigenous Perspectives
We’re piloting a new model of Study Service Term. After two intensive courses on campus in May and June, students take a six week course of immersive, experiential learning first with the Navajo people and then with the Hopi. Students will learn about Navajo and Hopi culture and society through presentations from local experts. They will go on field trips to sites of historical and contemporary significance for the Navajo and Hopi. They will stay part of their time in host families and they will engage with the question, what is service and what does it mean to me?
