Some 1,100 elementary students from 21 area schools and homeschool groups along with their parents and teachers will find environmental learning to be sugary-sweet at Sugar Bush 2006, sponsored by the Merry Lea Environmental Learning Center of Goshen College.
Two of the most influential musicians in American bluegrass music
Highlighting the many roles of women across the globe, the unique Goshen College Women's World Music Choir will perform at 1 p.m. on Feb. 14 in Sauder Concert Hall as part of the college's monthly Afternoon Sabbatical Series. The program is free and open to the public.
With the wit of playwright Christopher Durang's comedic plays for inspiration, the Goshen College Winter One Acts will be cleverly interpreted by two Goshen College students, one college staff member and one community member as directors, with casts of students. The four short plays will be presented Feb. 3 and 4 at 8 p.m. and Feb. 5 at 3 p.m. in Umble Center.

Goshen College Assistant Professors Susan Dengler, soprano, and Lee Dengler, baritone, will perform a recital of solos and duets on Saturday, Feb. 4 at 7:30 p.m. in Rieth Recital Hall of the Goshen College Music Center. The couple has appeared both individually and together in operas, oratorios and recitals since they met as undergraduates at West Chester (Pa.) University. Lee and Susan are ministers of music and arts at College Mennonite Church, on the campus of Goshen College in addition to service on the college's music department faculty.
The year 2006 marks the 250th year since the birth of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, one of the most celebrated composers in history. Members of the Goshen College Music Department faculty will celebrate the anniversary by performing an all-Mozart chamber music program on Jan. 29 at 4 p.m. in Rieth Recital Hall.
