Process for new Martyrs Mirror begins
More than 35 people from seven countries gathered at Goshen College on August 5-8, for an international consultation on the theme, “Bearing Witness: A New Martyrs Mirror for the 21st Century?” Hosted by the college’s Institute for the Study of Global Anabaptism, the international gathering explored the possibility of a major story-gathering initiative, focused especially on the theme of “costly discipleship.”
Fourteen students research alongside professors during summer
Fourteen Goshen College students spent the summer working with professors on various research projects during the college’s eight-week Maple Scholars program in June and July.
Two students awarded theological fellowships
Two Goshen College students were awarded a 2012 Fund for Theological Education (FTE) Undergraduate Fellowship. Seniors Jeffrey Moore and Emily Hedrick received the fellowships to help fund their ministerial explorations.

Individual tickets go on sale Monday, Aug. 6 at 8 a.m., online at www.goshen.edu/tickets and at the recently relocated Goshen College Welcome Center (moved from the south to the north side of the Union Building).
Former Board Chair Virgil L. Miller remembered for his faith, generosity and servant leadership
Virgil L. Miller, chair of the Goshen College Board of Directors from 1999 to 2009, was remembered this week for his leadership and varied contributions to the college. Miller, 72, died July 19 at his home in Archbold, Ohio, surrounded by his family, following a two-year struggle with cancer.
