Pianist Kwiran Lee to perform recital Jan. 29

Visiting artist Kwiran Lee will present a recital of solo piano works at Goshen College in the Music Center’s Rieth Recital Hall on Tuesday, Jan. 29 at 7:30 p.m.
Lee, a music faculty member at Ewha Women’s College in Seoul, Korea, will present works by Bach, Mozart, Chopin and Ockmi Han.
Born in Seoul, Korea, Lee has toured as a soloist and chamber musician. She studied piano at the Ewha Womans University under Young-Lim Ham and has won numerous prizes and awards. In 1995 she moved to the United States to study at the Eastman School of Music. She completed her Doctor of Musical Arts under Rebecca Penneys. While still a student, Lee performed for the Flaine Musique in France, the Sejong Arts Center in Korea, and the Classic Live Concerts Series on WBFO in Buffalo, New York.
In 2006, Lee returned to her native country and has given recitals at important Korean music halls such as Seoul Arts Center, Kumho Arts Center, Youngsan Art Hall and Sungnam Art Center.
Tickets cost $7 for adults, $5 for seniors/students. Goshen College students, faculty, and staff members are free with valid ID. Tickets will be available at the door beginning one hour before the recital.
