Nature and the Arts workshop gathers diverse artists around a common love of nature
If you’ve secretly dreamed of taking a weeklong artist’s workshop in an exotic location, but have never had the time, the money or the courage, the Nature and the Arts weekend at Merry Lea Environmental Learning Center of Goshen College is an appealing alternative. This 25-hour immersion in the arts, which takes place Friday, April 4, 7 p.m. to Saturday, April 5, 8 p.m., features three tracks: Nature Photography with Paul McAfee and Dave Dornberg; Creative Nature Writing with poet Ann Hostetler, an English professor at Goshen College; and Drawing to Printmaking with Dr. John Blosser, professor emeritus of art at Goshen College.

The Steel Wheels bring soulful sounds to Goshen College May 2
The Steel Wheels have enthralled audiences across the country with their heady brew of original, soulful mountain music for almost a decade. In a concert sponsored by 91.1 FM The Globe (WGCS), in partnership with the college’s Performing Arts Series, the band will bring their innovative music to the Goshen College Umble Center on May 2 at 7:30 p.m.

I felt that the culture and heritage at Goshen College would be very rich. I really liked that so I decided to go to school there and study computer science. My parents did not pay for school, so I had to be enterprising and start businesses to pay for tuition. I did everything from selling kitchen knives to delivering pizza. Ultimately, I had a startup in my senior year of college which I was able to sell when I graduated.

Benefit concert for Ukraine to take place March 22 at Goshen College
Goshen College music professor and violinist Solomia Soroka and pianist Arthur Greene will present a benefit recital on behalf of the people of Ukraine on Saturday, March 22 at 7:30 p.m. The recital will be held in the Goshen College Music Center’s Rieth Recital Hall.
