Goshen College recently recognized 170 undergraduate students for excellence in academics on the 2014-15 spring semester Dean’s List. The Dean’s List includes traditional undergraduate students earning at least a 3.75 GPA, while completing at least 12 hours of course work for a letter grade. Only grades from the designated semester are included in the Dean’s List selection process.

Zulma Prieto '01 started El Puente, the first Spanish-language newspaper in the state of Indiana, in 1992, calling it “a bridge between cultures.”
Joel Kauffmann believed laughter was a gift from God. The comic strip author, screenwriter and resident of Goshen since 1970 died at the age of 64 on Friday, May 8. Kauffman was perhaps best known for his comic strip Pontius’ Puddle, which he used to comment on the church, world and human condition.

FiveCore Media, Goshen College’s video production company, was nominated for a regional Emmy award for its 2013 “A Festival of Carols” video, which aired in December 2014 on PBS stations in Indiana. This is the first Emmy nomination for FiveCore Media and the second Emmy nomination for Goshen College since 2008. An awards ceremony will take place on June 27, 2015 in Indianapolis.
In May 2005, the Goshen College Music Center dedicated its new Taylor and Boody pipe organ, “Opus 41.” Now, 10 years later, the public is invited to celebrate its anniversary with a recital as part of the Rieth Chamber Series. GC organ instructor Kevin Vaughn will present an anniversary recital on Sunday, May 10 at 4 p.m. in the Music Center’s Rieth Recital Hall.
Two Elkhart County youth orchestras will present their spring concert in the Goshen College Music Center’s Sauder Concert Hall on Sunday, May 10, 2015. The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. Performing will be the Youth Honors Concert Orchestra (grades 7-9), conducted by Kyle Miller, and the Youth Honors Symphony Orchestra (grades 9-12), conducted by YHO Artistic Director Josh Aerie.
