The Bulletin – Fall/Winter 2017
About the cover
After Eugene Stutzman ’73 graduated from Goshen with a degree in art, he went on to become a major fashion designer in Sarasota, Florida. Along with his partner Alex, they created the acclaimed fashion label Eugene Alexander in the 1980s. This white gown of theirs may be their most iconic — worn by singer Whitney Houston for Time magazine in 1986, and appearing on the cover of Life magazine following her death in 2012. It was also worn by actress Sarah Jessica Parker in the opening scene of the movie, Sex and the City.
