Music is in the air as Goshen College Men’s Chorus tour Pacific Northwest
GOSHEN, Ind. - The Goshen College Men’s Chorus will spend their spring break touring and performing in churches and schools in Oregon and Washington from Feb. 24 through March 2, 2018, with a home concert on Sunday, March 4 at 7:30 p.m. in the Goshen College Music Center’s Sauder Concert Hall.
The tour theme, “Music in the Air,” is an exploration of sacred songs celebrating God’s creation, both here on earth and in the celestial spheres of the sun and the stars. The program will feature a wide range of selections including traditional hymns, spirituals, gospel selections, and contemporary choral works. Included in the program are compositions by Copland, Sibelius, Grieg, Forrest, Moore, Conte, Sametz and Crouch and by Mennonite composers Lee Dengler, Esther Wiebe, and Goshen College senior Mark Kreider.
“I’m so excited to return to the beautiful Pacific Northwest where I had the privilege to live and teach for five years,” said Men’s Chorus Director and Professor of Music Scott Hochstetler. “The gorgeous landscape and vibrant venues provide the perfect setting to share our music honoring God’s creation and provision.”
