One of the most frequently produced plays in the United States, She Kills Monsters tells the story of Agnes Evans leaving her childhood home in Ohio after the death of her family. While cleaning out the house, Agnes finds her younger sister’s Dungeons & Dragons notebook. It catapults Agnes into an action-packed adventure through teenage Tilly’s imaginary world.
Amy Budd, producer of the show and theater professor at GC, said, “Theater, games and life itself demand commitment, risk-taking and friends we can count on. She Kills Monsters reminds us to build the world we want to live in by crafting strong communities.”
This high-octane fantasy of homicidal fairies, nasty ogres, and 90s pop culture offers a heart-pounding homage to the geek warrior within us all.
She Kills Monsters was written by Qui Nguyen. It is directed by Brenton Abram-Copenhaver and produced by Amy Budd.
